Is ECO4 and GBIS actually free?
If the property has a low SAP rating/ EPC rating it will potentially qualify for ECO4 and GBIS, however the owner or tenant needs to qualify.
For a single measure under GBIS the majority of people will qualify but for two insulation measures or heating controls they will need to be on some sort of benefits.
Under ECO4 there are various routes that a homeowner or tenant can qualify, one being that they are on benefits.
Can you get free solar panels?

Heating measures: Upgrade of non efficient electric storage heaters to efficient electric storage heaters, FTCH (first time central heating) when the property does not currently have a gas boiler, ASHP (air source heat pump) to name a few
Solar PV, under some circumstances we can install solar PV to bring the annual bills down free of charge.
How does the process work?
Once a potential job comes in, we at Electrotec ask the questions and collect the necessary forms to make sure the job will qualify. If this passes we then organise an assessment of the property where our coordinator will design the improvement plan needed.
We then book and carry out the installation, handover to the client and the rest of the work is our side.
What makes a job or property not viable?
If the property already has a satisfactory SAP band/ EPC rating of C or above.
How long does the process take?
Generally from initial ECO4 or GBIS enquiry we install 2-4 weeks later

Certain installations are carried out within one day, whereas larger jobs or jobs with more measures can take up to 1-2 weeks.
