A no-dig ground mount, fully reversible
The system was installed using the Renusol ConSole+ ballasted ground mounting system, a proven solution that needs no ground penetrations and no concrete foundations. The HDPE tubs are positioned on the ground, filled with ballast such as gravel or paving slabs to anchor the structure, and the panels are fixed directly onto the tubs at a fixed 15 degree angle optimised for year-round generation in the South East.
The result is clean, stable and completely reversible. Nothing is dug, poured or drilled, and the ground underneath is left undamaged, which matters if the garden is ever relandscaped or the property changes hands.
Perlight monocrystalline panels went onto the frame here. On a system where every panel's footprint takes up garden space, their efficiency per square metre made them the right call for getting the most generation from the land available.
The 12kWh FoxESS battery captures surplus generation through the day and releases it through the evening and overnight, so the household runs on its own stored energy for as many hours as possible. At 6kWp the system generates roughly 5,100 kWh a year, and with 12kWh of storage a high proportion of that is used in the house rather than exported.
